Scott Foyster

Research Technician

Biography

Scott has worked with the Fire Centre as a Research Technician on a number of projects over the past three years, specialising in forest fuel assessments, post-fire vegetation surveys and fire-soil interactions. He is currently leading the technical elements of our FireLab3 flammability project looking at fire risk in the rural-urban interface. This involves assessing the flammability of both native and ornamental garden plants. He has a Bachelor of Science with Honours having completed his Honours on the role that soil nutrients play in the post-fire recovery of a south-western Tasmanian buttongrass-forest mosaic. You can find him most days in FireLab3 burning various plant samples to determine their flammability.
