Sparking Conversations, Igniting Action

Sparking Conversations, Igniting Action is a joint initiative of the Greater Hobart councils – Clarence, Glenorchy, Hobart and Kingborough.

The SCIA project team will work side-by-side with 12 different neighbourhoods, creating bushfire risk demonstration sites, holding events and giving free bushfire risk assessments.

We want to work with communities in Clarence, Glenorchy, Hobart and Kingborough to spark conversations, and ignite action that will protect us all from bushfire.

The Fire Centre will be evaluating the community engagement of the SCIA project, and contributing to the assessment of flammability of garden plants through research undertaken in FireLab3’s Flammability Lab.
