Chris Johnson is Professor of Wildlife Conservation at the University of Tasmania. He is an ecologist who studies the management of threatened and invasive species in relation to long-term change in the structure and dynamics of ecosystems. He has a special interest in the ecology of animals in relation to fire. This includes work on the effects of fire on vertebrate populations, and the effects of vertebrates on fire regimes through their influence as herbivores and ecosystem engineers.
