Chris recently completed his PhD at the University of Tasmania developing new technology for assessing drought tolerance and damage in plants, but also has more than 20 years industry experience designing and developing software, websites, mobile apps, online tools and IoT devices. His research interests are focused on the application of emergent technologies, such as 3D printing, to answer research questions and has developed a number of online tools and mobile apps for visualising, exploring and capturing a range of environmental and social data. Chris developed the AirRater app and is currently working on an exciting new app for increasing situational awareness of fire danger in Tasmania, due to launch in 2019.
